Studio profile

A one-person planting studio in Alley

Daniil Bragarciuc prepares courtyard planting plans from Strada Lipcani 9, MD-2051, Alley, Republic of Moldova. You deal with that person directly. There is no call centre, no junior team, and no franchise.

The address is for correspondence. Visits happen at the yard being planted, by appointment. Please write before coming. There is no shop and no bench of plants for sale.

Approach

The plant list comes last. A courtyard is a set of constraints: the daily walk to the gate, the window you want bright in January, the downpipe, the neighbor's beds, and whoever will hold the hose in August. A plan that ignores those is a shopping list, and shopping lists fail.

The studio stays small on purpose. A limited number of yards are open at once so the notes are actually written, not promised and then rushed.

Method

On the visit the walk starts at the gate and follows the route you already use, to the bin, the meter, and the door. Then the edges, the walls, the windows, and two tests with a spade, one near the house and one in the open. Photos you sent earlier are used to prepare. They do not replace the walk.

The drawing is made afterwards, at a desk, and sent as a file you can print and keep. The full sequence, including what you need to have ready, is on the visit page.

  • Mulch, added after planting
  • The thin dark layer people call soil
  • Fill: brick, lime, and odds and ends
  • Harder ground a spade may not pass

Town yards often look like soil and are not. The plan is written for the layers that are there. If a large tree cannot root, the drawing says so instead of hoping.

Principles

  1. 1

    Look before naming plants

Sun, water, and use decide the list. A favourite tree that does not fit is left off the drawing.

  2. 2

Write it so it can be re-read

You should be able to open the plan in the third year and still see spacing, the month to plant, and what not to cut in a heatwave.

  3. 3

    Respect a Moldovan August

Plants are chosen for cold winters, late spring frost, and dry heat. A scheme that only looks right in a wet June is not a scheme for this climate.

  4. 4

    Leave the neighbor's light

A crown that will cover the next plot is a dispute waiting to happen. Distances are drawn with that in mind.

  5. 5

Decline work that is not planting

Construction, permits, and spraying are other trades. The studio names the limit in the quote rather than stretching into them.

Values

  1. 1

    A clear fee

The quote states the price in Moldovan lei, the address it covers, and the pages you will receive. Nothing is paid before that email exists.

  2. 2

    Care on the property

Gates are closed, no product is sprayed, and nothing is dug beyond what the visit needs. If you ask for shoes to come off inside, they do.

  3. 3

    Proportion

One person can look at a yard properly or pretend to run many jobs at once. The studio chooses the first.

What this studio is not

Not a nursery
You buy the plants. The plan names the size and type to ask for. Nurseries are not paid to be mentioned.
Not a builder
Walls, drainage pipes, paving, and irrigation installs are outside the work. A bed can be moved away from a bad downpipe. The pipe itself is not redesigned.
Not a stamp
The drawings are planting plans. They are not a substitute for a permit, a structural engineer, or a licensed survey of a boundary.
Not medical advice
Nothing on this site is health, nutrition, or therapeutic guidance. The subject is plants in a yard.
